    About

    A mixed level class that is more challenging than the GENTLE class. Each BASIC yoga class lasts 90 minutes. Beginners who consider themselves “adventurous” may enjoy the challenge of our BASIC classes. At whatever level you participate, our classes focus on proper alignment in each pose, concentration and breathing so that each patron will walk out of each class conditioned, relaxed and re-energized.

    Develops strength as well as flexibility and also develops endurance.

      Karen Neary has been a certified yoga instructor through Integral Yoga Institute, registered with the Yoga Alliance, since 2002. Karen believes in the power of the practice to transform, heal & guide us all towards living a life of freedom.

      Gentle and basic classes are fueled by music, threaded with breath and inspired by the dynamic flow of asana and the timeless flow of yogic philosophy.

      Karen has been in the Fitness/Wellness industry for over 20 years. Her many certifications include personal training, maternal fitness, prenatal fitness, prenatal yoga, spinning, resist-a-ball, TRX, AED/CPR/First Aid. Karen is dedicated, through this deep love and passion, to promote mind/body awareness and inspire overall healthy lifestyle changes of clients from all walks of life.

    • Nancy Corrigan

      Nancy started at shakti in1999, falling in love with yoga and has been teaching since 2001. She has a kirtan band and incorporates hands on help welcoming all ages.
      You can trust and will be treated with loving arms in her sunday morning or monday night gentle class; which cater to those new to the practice.

    • Karen Cardinali

      Karen received her yoga certification from Shoshone yoga retreat in the beautiful mountains of Rollinsville, Colorado. Her love and interest in being and feeling well has spiraled her into a web of constant education and re-education in and around the body and mind.
      Being a dancer most of her life, she has a keen awareness of alignment and how repetitive stress affects the body and her teaching style is influenced by that knowledge.
      She endeavors to help others accept their unique circumstances in order to be present in their practice more fully.

      Elena Rita is a certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor. Kripalu Yoga is the yoga of compassion. It encourages self-inquiry and self-care through pranayama, pratapana, and asana. Elena’s class is accessible to anyone at any level.

    • Pam Flynn Kimelman

      Pam Flynn has been a student of yoga for approximately 40 years and she co-founded Shakti Yoga Center in 1995. She focuses on bringing class participants into “the present moment” and encourages both light-hearted self-acceptance and self-challenge along with a “don’t take yourself too seriously” point of view. She welcomes the uniqueness of every patron and creates a spirit of friendliness in her classes. And she is quite proud of Shakti Yoga Center’s talented and diversified teaching staff.
